Delhi Man Gets Life Sentence for Killing Colleague
New Delhi [India], April 29 (ANI): A man who smashed the head of his colleague in August 2019 with a blunt object for allegedly developing an intimacy with his wife has been awarded a life sentence by the Tis Hazari court .
The incident occurred at a factory located in the Rajouri Garden district in August 2019, and the perpetrator attempted to make it appear as though it was caused by electrocution leading to death.
Principal District and Sessions Judge (West) Vinod Kumar has sentenced the individual to life imprisonment. Naushad Alam for committing the crime of murder Shakeel Ahmed .
Furthermore, Alam was handed a one-year prison term for destroying evidence.
The court found the defendant guilty, relying on indirect evidence and statements from witnesses, notably Sumeet Arora, who owns the factory.
As it convicted the accused, the court documented the statement of the witness. The court further noted, "This is evidently not a case involving execution by electric chair."
The injuries are numerous, indicating this is clearly a case of culpable homicide escalating to murder, as they seem to have been deliberately inflicted with the intent to cause death. Shakeel Ahmed Consequently, the incident qualifies as murder as per Section 300 of the IPC and is subject to punishment under Section 302 of the IPC," stated the judgment issued on April 28.
The court said that testimony shows that the defence has not disputed that it is a case of death by injuries caused to the head of the deceased with a blunt object.
Additional public prosecutor Atul Shrivastava contended that a significant incentive for an extramarital affair was behind the accused committing this offense. Therefore, he requested that the accused be found guilty. However, the court dismissed this argument regarding the motivation for the crime. (ANI)
