Spain Eyes Real Madrid Gem Thiago Pitarch as Morocco Shows Interest

To get ahead of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the Spanish Football Federation has extended an invitation to Real Madrid young talent Thiago Pitarch, who hails from Morocco, to participate in a training camp with Spain’s U-18 national squad.

According to Spanish media reports Pitarch, whose grandfather hails from Al Hoceima, is recognized for his tactical flexibility, enabling him to perform as an advanced midfielder, a playmaker, and surprisingly, as a false left winger.

He has received an invitation to join the Spain under-18 squad for a training camp in Las Rozas, which is designed to prepare young talents for the under-19 team and involve them in friendly games.

This summons came only a month following his invite to join Morocco’s under-17 squad, guided by ex-international player Noureddine Naybet.

The young midfielder, who is 17 years old, started this season with Real Madrid's B-team youths and has emerged as an essential player for Arbeloa’s side in the top-tier youth league.

In the 2023–2024 season, Pitarch became a member of Real Madrid’s academy following his impressive performances in the youth setups at Getafe and Leganés. Prior to this, he had been associated with Atlético Madrid’s academy.
