Punjab Minister Honors Award-Winning Journalists with Exclusive Dinner

On April 28, Punjab Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari organized a special dinner in Lahore to celebrate prominent journalists who had been awarded Pakistan’s highest civilian honors for their outstanding contributions. This gathering attracted key figures from the journalism community as well as officials from the Information Department.

Notable journalists Nasrullah Malik, Kamran Shahid, Muneeb Farooq, and Muzammil Suharwardi were honored with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz award. Seasoned reporter Salman Ghani was bestowed with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz. Additionally, Punjab Information Secretary Tahir Raza Hamdani and DGPR Ghulam Sagheer Shahid were present at the event.

At the event, the minister commended the journalists for their truthful reporting. She emphasized that genuine journalism relies on accuracy and ethical standards. She cautioned about the potential harm caused by unchecked information spread by certain YouTubers who inappropriate use the media label.

Furthermore, Minister Bukhari conveyed Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's commitment to fully supporting responsible journalism. The event concluded with sincere acknowledgments and a reaffirmed promise from the government to back ethical reporting.
