"Grateful to the Divine": Jaspinder Narula Reflects on Her Padma Shri Honor
New Delhi [India], April 28 (ANI): Vocalist Jaspinder Narula , who was awarded the distinguished Padma Shri award For her contributions to the world of art, she expressed feeling thankful for the affection and backing she has garnered over the course of her career.
While speaking to ANI, Jaspinder Narula She conveyed her joy and mentioned that being shown this level of respect acts as a reward for the immense effort and commitment she has invested in her musical journey.
"When your 'tapasya' proves successful, you feel incredibly good. The knowledge gained along with the love and respect one receives—this was far beyond what I had anticipated... I've been overwhelmed with affection from my viewers, supporters, family, and friends. However, I remain deeply thankful and humbled by the blessings of the Almighty as well as everyone else who has shown me love and respect following the announcement," stated Narula.
Jaspinder Narula She first gained prominence in Bollywood through songs featured in movies such as "Master," "Aar Ya Paar," and "Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan" (1998). Nevertheless, it was her track "Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha" from the 1998 film of the same title that catapulted her into stardom. This duet, performed alongside Remo Fernandes, won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 1999.
Throughout her career, Narula has performed numerous hit tracks such as "Tare Hain Barati" from Virasat (1997), "Judaai Judaai" from Judaai (1997), and "Hungama Ho Jaaye" from Baadshah (1999). For several decades now, she has been an esteemed and cherished artist within the realm of Indian music.
Every year, on the eve of Republic Day, the Padma Awards are conferred, with distinctions made across three tiers: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.
