Trans Nzoia - Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has cautioned President William Ruto that his behavior could distance him from ODM leader Raila Odinga.
On Friday, March 28, during the inauguration of a new four-story building with 12 classrooms at Tuwan Primary School in Tuwan Ward, the Member of Parliament criticized President Ruto's leadership.
The candid legislator asserted that many lawmakers were intimidated by Ruto and lacked the courage to share honest feedback with him regarding the nation's condition.
Amisi stood firm in defending his actions, asserting that engaging with those in power didn’t imply he was challenging President Ruto’s authority.
The legislator cautioned the president that if he keeps steering Kenya down the incorrect route, Raila could abandon him.
"At present, all Members of Parliament seem to be intimidated; every time they encounter William Ruto, they act as though their tails are between their legs,” Amisi pointed out. “Disagreeing with William Ruto doesn’t imply disrespect towards him. Should the President stray from the right path, one should voice this concern: 'Mr President, you’ve veered off course.' Currently, we’re expressing our view that William Ruto’s leadership is steering the country in the wrong direction. Also, remember that the person known as ‘Baba,’ who associates with him, might abandon him anytime," Amisi emphasized.
Amisi criticizes Kenya Kwanza regarding the fatalities in Haiti.
The Member of Parliament also noted with great concern that it is shocking to witness Kenyan law enforcement personnel losing their lives amidst the current international operation in Haiti.
Amisi cited the recent murder of a Kenyan law enforcement officer following an attack by criminal groups in Haiti, stating that the true details of the incident were being withheld from the public in Kenya.
The member of parliament indicated that it is merely just for the safety of Kenyan police officers in Haiti to be ensured as they strive to maintain law and order in the Caribbean country.
"Policemen are losing their lives in Haiti, yet the full truth remains undisclosed. Law enforcement officials are being apprehended by criminal elements and subsequently murdered. It is important for us to convey to William Ruto that abandoning our citizens to other countries without guaranteeing their safety is unacceptable," he stated additionally.
