Aspirant for Surulere Chairmanship Praises Tinubu's Launch of 8,000 PHCs
Bashir Lanrewaju Oshodi, who is seeking the chairmanship position for Surulere Local Government Area through the All Progressives Congress (APC), has praised President Bola Tinubu to set up 8,000 Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs) throughout Nigeria.
Today, Oshodi released a statement expressing deep appreciation to President Tinubu, describing the initiative as a pivotal move for rejuvenating Nigeria’s healthcare sector and improving the availability of superior medical care.
"This marks a significant historical achievement that clearly demonstrates the Tinubu administration’s steadfast commitment to transforming the healthcare system and enhancing the well-being of millions of Nigerians," noted Oshodi.
He highlighted that the introduction of these PHCs comes at an opportune time for communities that have historically struggled with obtaining accessible and cost-effective medical care.
Oshodi emphasized that placing these centers strategically will allow people living in rural, semi-urban, and under-resourced regions to access vital medical care close to home, eliminating the hardship associated with traveling long distances.
Oshodi highlighted additional benefits of this program, such as dispersing healthcare services away from centralized locations, thereby reducing strain on regular and academic hospitals. This shift aims to enhance overall operational effectiveness and generate numerous employment prospects—both immediate and ancillary—for health professionals and auxiliary workers alike.
These initiatives focused on people embody the forward-thinking guidance that Nigerians aspire to," he stated, vowing steadfast backing for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also promised that should he be elected as the Chairman of Surulere LGA, he would strive to achieve comparable development progress within the area.
Oshodi appealed to party members, stakeholders, and residents to back the APC-administered government in efforts to create a healthier and more prosperous Nigeria.
