When will King Willem Alexander be visiting Kenya?

Traffic disruptions will occur due to visiting dignitaries and the World Safari Rally event taking place in Naivasha.

On Monday, March 17, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are expected to arrive in the country ahead of the start of their four-day State visit.

As reported by Citizen Digital, the two individuals visiting the country at President William Ruto’s invitation will be joined by three ministers: Casper Veldkamp from Foreign Affairs, Reinette Klever from Foreign Trade and Development, and Ruben Brekelmans from Defence.

On Tuesday, March 18, the Dutch king along with his entourage will undertake multiple activities around the city, such as planting trees, leading to various traffic interruptions.

The king from Lesotho is scheduled to reach Nairobi on the same day for an official trip as well.

City Hall Way will be shut down from Tuesday through Friday for the commencement of the Safari Rally trials near the Governor of Nairobi's office building. The closure of this street will persist during these days.

On Wednesday, March 19, the King's party will head to Naivasha through Mai Mahiu, and as per the traffic advisory, all trucks will be redirected.

In Naivasha, the King and Queen are scheduled to visit an inland container depot (ICD). This site serves as a key hub for storing dry goods destined for export.

At the same time, later today, commuters may encounter traffic interruptions along Thika Super Highway due to the anticipated visit of the King of Lesotho to some facilities close to Clay Works in Ruiru and a school within Ruiru town.

Get ready for potential interruptions prior to his exit the next day.

On March 21st, Friday, expect traffic interruptions when the Safari Rally shifts to Naivasha for all the excitement.
